2025 Black STEAM Fair
|
Empowering Excellence thru Exploration (E3 Camp) collaborated with Hargraves Community Center and
Chapel of the Cross for its 4th Annual Black STEAM Fair. The event was held on November 15th. There were 20 groups/organizations that conveyed the importance of art, engineering, math, science and technology to the attending 45 African-American youth, 40 adults/parents, 47 organizer participants and 30 volunteers. Each attending youth was given a clipboard with a pencil and a question sheet in order to write down information. Also, the entrants were given a string tote bag that had an eraser, a mechanical pencil and pen in it. At the conclusion of the fair, the youth’s bags were filled with informational handouts and physical items that were given out at each different table. Youths gained valuable information by rotating to each table - some groups had videos, hands outs, and hands-on activities to provide knowledge about all of the STEAM Fields. E3 Camp Board Members want to Thank businesses, individuals and organizations for supporting this STEAM Event. ** Shout out to Thomas Smith - owner of Carrboro’s Jersey Mikes - who assisted with providing a sandwich box to below participants. ** Chapel of the Cross Youth Outreach and Michael Villopoto - owner of Carrboro’s Amante Pizza - for providing pizza, chips and water to fair entrants. |
